System Breakwater has been developed to provide protection against waves, currents and turbulence in harbours and on open water. The floating structures combine stability, mass and damping capacity, effectively slowing down the impact of waves before they reach the harbour facilities. The system offers maximum strength and durability, with virtually no maintenance, making it a reliable choice for protecting marinas and shorelines from wave impact.
The breakwaters are constructed from robust concrete elements with a core of EPS foam for buoyancy. Their considerable dead weight provides natural damping of wave energy, while at the same time functioning as a fully-fledged jetty element. They are suitable for use in marinas, harbour basins and industrial ports, where protection of moored ships or quay walls is necessary.
The breakwaters can be finished with various finishes and features, such as walkways and anchoring options, so that they integrate seamlessly into the overall pontoon design. Customised solutions are possible based on location, desired damping and intended use.
The sections are 15 or 20 metres long. The width can vary from 3 to 6 metres with a height of 1.4 and 1.8 metres. The load varies from 30 to more than 70 tonnes depending on the size.
